stretcher bars. These bars have a depth of 3/4 inch and allow

the canvas is stretched over the wooden supports. In this case,
the image "wraps" around the side of the supports
and is stapled onto the back. This is a finished look that allows
you to hang the piece without a frame. Even though a piece is
gallery wrapped, you may still frame it. The
canvas is treated with a UV inhibiting coat, that protects the
canvas from fading. The canvas coating combination is rated
to last for over 100 years.
